Why powder packaging requires specialized industrial packaging machines
Powdered products such as detergents, fertilizers, and technical additives present specific challenges: variable density, possible tendency to pack, and the need to keep the welding zone free of residue. The V5-10 Powder Line from VAI - as stated in the official fact sheet¹ - was created to create a short filling path, suck in particle-laden air and ensure clean seals without compromising production speed.
Auger feeder: weight tolerance under control
The machine employs an auger feeder: the first stage performs rapid filling, the second stage refines with low-speed revolutions. According to nameplate values, the standard deviation remains in the range of a few tenths of a percent, a result that reduces both over-fill and the risk of trade disputes. The control system can be integrated with a checkweigher to get continuous feedback and further stabilize the weight.
Integrated suction to the automatic packaging machine and protected sealing
A suction duct built into the forming tube keeps the filling chamber under vacuum: fine powders are conveyed to a collection collector, preventing them from settling on the jaws. In this way, the vertical packaging machine ensures consistent seals and extends the life of the heating elements, reducing the frequency of manual cleaning.
Compact layout, frontal reel change and film reduction
The stainless steel frame occupies only a few square meters, making it easy to fit into existing facilities. The front-mounted film trolley allows reel replacement without disassembling guards; servo-driven traction allows the use of thinner films than preformed bag, lowering the cost per bag and improving the environmental footprint. As a result of these solutions, the total cost of ownership of the line is significantly reduced over the entire operating life cycle.
